You may see me referred to as Karen in these stories, which is the name some of my clients use in our work together.

The biggest thing I learned about myself is to actually embrace who I am and to accept that every human is born unique and I have my own internal design.
Before the reading Karen did with me, I always had the inkling that I was not an original thinker, that was my biggest problem I have to resolve, because I'm not good enough. I'm not creative and original enough. Karen helped me make sense of ‘this-is-you’. This is NOT your weakness, just part of you. There are other ways that you can leverage it. The fact that you're not necessarily like a groundbreaking original, it doesn't mean that you can't be creative. You are creative in your own way. I am very good at taking in information, processing them, and repurposing them for other users. Karen gave me a different kind of confidence I never knew I deserved.
The second thing I’ve learned about myself is a big realisation that I’m not a doer, I should be driving, communicating and demanding others and commanding them. That gave me the confidence to think that's what I'm designed to do. It’s okay to own that space. It's not me being lazy, it's just where I best deploy my energy and my strengths.
(The reading) fundamentally changed how I communicate at work. Previously, one of my anxieties was always worrying about what other people thought of me. Even in a leadership position, I used to think that in order to win credibility, I have to be at the front and doing all the work, solving people’s problems and providing answers to every question. I ended up burning out during Covid.
I have a very busy life. In the past, my go-to solution was often just work harder and do more, squeeze in a bit more to do this and that. And then I became very bitter, thinking ‘why am I the only person who is slaving over certain things, like washing up or chores in a household?’ Now I always think about how I would like the solution to be. I will share it calmly with my husband. So our discussion is always solution-oriented. It becomes a virtuous, rather than vicious circle. I end up doing less, having more time for myself and feeling empowered. Because I feel that I am comfortable with a situation, not struggling. I'm not going out of my way to overcompensate where nobody else notices it. That's my biggest change of how I use Human Design reading to guide my personal life and day-to-day life.
Karen also did some reading about my relationship with money. My natural instinct before reading was that ‘money is always tight’. I was always paranoid about not having money. Karen helped me to see that it shouldn't be how my relationship is with finance. She also mentioned that I have a tendency of overthinking and overwhelmed with mental load.
So I'm deliberately working on reducing my mental load. Now I have a healthier relationship with money and see money as part of the resources. I spent money on getting help with my cleaning, laundry and gardening. That again takes the burden out of my mental load. I sort of combine different branches of Karen’s reading to guide my daily life.
I don't think I can actually function and sustainably in my current job, had it not been getting those advice, tailored, personalised advice on how to operate as human. I would have burned out, honestly!"

Karen did a series of Human Design analyses for my family of four. The experience not only helped me understand my own talents and challenges. More importantly, it also helped me see the unique traits of each family member, and identify the differences amongst us.
