If you have never heard of Human Design, you are not alone. It’s a question I get asked all the time.
In my own practice, I’ve found that only a handful of people have encountered it before. Even then, the landscape can be confusing.
I had clients telling me they bought Human Design books, but couldn't make sense of them. Two clients even purchased a 50-page computer report online and were left puzzled.
This journal post is the story of how I found this treasure map and what it truly means to learn to read it.
I have always been a searcher, looking for tools to help me understand myself better. I explored astrology, both Western and Chinese. Yeah, I downloaded some free reports online. I would read them and see a small piece of myself. But the picture was always blurry and incomplete. It was like an itch on my back that I could never quite reach.
I had a rewarding career as a university lecturer in London. To my friends and family in Taiwan, my life seemed exotic and comfortable. And I truly love teaching. Yet even with a life that looked successful, deep down I often felt insecure, like I didn't quite fit.
In 2014, on a random afternoon, I stumbled upon a blog post about Human Design. I was instantly curious. How had I never heard of this before? I googled and generated my free chart. There wasn't much information available back then, so I carried on with my life.
Two years later, it re-entered my world. This time, I went all in. I read every book I could find, in both Chinese and in English. I even ordered a book that was only available in the USA and asked my dear friend, Dr Jiajia Liu, to bring it back after a conference she was attending. (Thank you so much, Jiajia. It was a useful book and a true act of friendship!)
This time, it felt different. The words on the page resonated with some feelings I had buried deep inside. After six months of self-study, I knew this wasn't a scam. I gave myself a birthday present: my first professional Human Design reading.
Even though I already knew a lot, the session with the Analyst was truly life-changing. For the first time, I felt understood! I found answers I had been searching for.
Years later, after completing my own intensive training, I became a certified Human Design Analyst. My greatest joy now comes from helping my clients feel that same sense of clarity.
You Are Not 'Weird': I often show clients that the 'eccentric' parts of themselves are actually normal for their unique design. Their sense of relief is instant and tangible.
Speaking Your Language: Thanks to my lecturing experience, I use everyday words to explain charts. My goal is to awaken your own understanding of yourself.
A Safe Space: My work is to create a space for deep and confidential conversation. 'Feeling seen and understood' and 'knowing how to move forward' are the most common feedback I receive from clients.
Today, you can get your chart instantly. AI tools like ChatGPT are shaking up how we explore everything. I even saw a TikToker teaching people prompts to ask an AI about their Human Design chart. These tools can be useful for looking up definitions.
But a map is only useful if you know how to read it. This is where a human guide becomes important.
Which path is the right one for you: an analyst, a report or AI? It depends on the depth of experiences and personalisation you are seeking.
A Cohesive Story, Not Fragmented Data
Your Human Design chart is more than a collection of traits. An algorithm can list your Gates and Centres, but it misses the whole picture. As an analyst, I synthesise these details into a cohesive story that reveals the masterpiece of you.
Personalised Guidance, Not Generic Reports
A computer report doesn't know your life. Our work is a conversation about you. We connect your chart directly to your unique challenges and goals. The aim is to give you practical strategies to use immediately.
Human Connection, Not a Machine
AI can't replicate the energy exchange in human connection. A live reading is a safe and intuitive space for discovery. This is where the deepest insights often arise.
Ongoing Support, Not a Single Transaction
Your 'aha!' moments often lead to new questions. A live reading is an interactive dialogue. It’s the start of your journey. And I am here to support you as you experiment with your design.
To help you decide, I have created a comparison table. It highlights the differences in the depth of analysis, the level of personalisation, and the overall experience you will receive from each approach.
